THE FASHION HOUSE
Versace empire was founded in the late seventies by the legendary designer to movie stars, celebrities and royalty, Gianni Versace. A “muse and critic” of her brother, it was precisely Donatella Versace who took the reins of the Italian fashion house after his death in 1997. Always at the fashion forefront, Versace is a synonym of extreme luxury, high-octane glamour and a powerful, boundary-pushing “more is more” design.
THE NEW SEASON
Versace FW17 collection, influenced by streetwear, celebrates the power of women. Empowering messages. Seductive textures. Captivating layers. Flirtatious tulle. Uncompromisingly flattering silhouettes. Bold looks. Versace new power dressing. The new season for men is a mix of Bauhaus graphics-influenced modernity with mythological Greek elements, a blend of ancient and contemporary. Spectacular prints, inspired by László Moholy-Nagy and Jean-Paul Goude.
Versace most iconic lines are Barocco, clad in the signature opulent Heritage, Iconic or Ethnic Baroque-inspired prints, Palazzo with large Medusa head embellishment (including the new Palazzo Empire bags as seen on the latest runways), Signature, featuring the instantly recognizable multi Medusa head medallion accents, and Vanitas, a luxurious blend of quilted Barocco detailing, Medusa medallion elements and Greek Key motif hardware.
